Groundworks

maincrop-542d309d14878groundworks2Spencer specialises in Groundworks. The company is capable of carrying out a huge range of land-based and environmental operations. It is what it does best.

In recent years, a significant part of Spencer’s work has been the clearance and preparation of sites in advance of building and construction projects, whether this is a brown-field site set-aside for a new housing development, a strip of land that has been allocated for a bypass, or a green-field site that has been specified for a solar or wind energy installation.

Whatever the subsequent purpose, Spencer has the expertise, equipment and human resources to plan, instigate carry out and manage the whole – or part – of the groundworks operation. Spencer will work closely with the management contractor, planners, authorities and any other party involved to ensure the groundworks are implemented and delivered in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Spencer’s range of groundwork operations covers a wide range tasks. See the side bar on the right for a list of just some of the groundwork services the company provides.

The company is certified to ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 9001: 2015 and it is familiar with the requirements of working in protected and ecologically sensitive areas, such as SSSIs, SACs and National Parks. Spencer will also deal with disposal and recycling of the materials, manage and control wildlife, the protection of endangered species and the preservation of rare plants.
