Spencer selected for Welsh Wind Energy Programme

30th January 2012

Further to our recent press release, Spencer ECA would like to clarify that it is pleased to announce that the company has recently been successful in tendering for works that, subject to Planning Permission by the relevant Planning Authority, will lead to a contract for clearance work for the Wind Energy Programme on the Welsh Government Woodland Estate.

If Planning Consent is granted, the agreed clearance work will involve the removal of young crops from lightly-wooded areas that are not viable to harvest. This will prepare the site for construction and, as with any project – especially one that involves renewable energy in environmentally sensitive locations – Spencer will carry out its work in the most ecologically efficient way possible.

“We are delighted to have been selected to carry out these significant site clearance works for this proposed renewable energy project”, said Spencer ECA Director Jamie Jukes. “Should it go ahead, the work involved is very much in line with what our company does on a regular basis: forestry operations, site clearance, groundwork, recycling of materials and the production of biomass fuels for a variety of clients and therefore, we intend to work closely with Forestry Commission Wales and our chosen delivery partner Kingwell Holdings to make this a successful project for everyone involved.”
