Spencer underlines its ecological commitment with the use of environmentally considerate lubricants

9th November 2010

Spencer ECA (Environmental Care Associates) is pleased to announce that it has embarked on a programme to use environmentally considerate lubricants (ECLs) in its plant and equipment, this new initiative further increasing the company’s commitment to carry out its operations in the most ecologically sustainable way possible.

The supplier chosen to provide the oils is Swiss company Panolin AG, who are world leaders in the development and production of ECLs. These types of oils are able to offer ecological benefits over and above that of regular lubricants, by possessing an exceptionally long service life. This eliminates the need for regular changes and therefore reduces waste and the energy used in ongoing production and transportation.

Added to this is the oils’ high-level of biodegradability, which ensures that if there is any seepage or spillage, the consequential impact is drastically reduced. Therefore, having assessed the ecologic credentials and the performance features of its products, Spencer has now initiated an oil-replacement programme for its machinery’s hydraulic and mechanical systems.

“Because we are continuously working in the countryside, we are extremely aware of the pressures concerning the environment. Therefore, since our company was founded, we have always taken ecological issues seriously and strive to work in the most sustainable way possible”, said Managing Director for Spencer ECA Jamie Jukes.

“Because of this, we are pleased to be using Panolin and its range of lubricants, to ensure we continue to run our operations in keeping with our company policy; which is to minimise our environmental impact as much as we possibly can.”

Ongoing, Spencer will continue introduce practices and procedures that will further enhance its sustainable methods of working.
